Social Skills Groups
Groups meet one time per week for 45 minutes.
Play Pals (Ages 3-5 years), Friendship Club (Ages 5-8 years old):
Provides preschool and school aged children with the opportunities to develop social and play skills in a small group setting. Each class engages children in structured and non-structured play activities. During the sessions, children will learn to engage in cooperative play, problem solve, follow directions, join in group activities, initiate conversation, take turns, ask for help, transition from one activity to another, recognize and respond appropriately to others’ feelings, appropriately express their own feelings and expand their verbal and non-verbal communication skills. These skills will help children make and sustain friendships. Class is conducted by a Speech Language Pathologist .
Sensory/Social Skills (ages 5-9): Led by an Occupational Therapist and a Speech Language Pathologist, this group will focus on the development of Sensory and Pragmatic/Social Skills. Sensory activities will be offered to promote overall fine motor awareness, grasp patterns, increasing work readiness and focus – including tolerance for sitting and working. Social and “friendship” skills will also be addressed through creative play, movement and music.
Let’s Talk (ages 7-9) Monday 5:45-6:30 In these groups, children will begin to focus more on group peer conversations. Getting to know friends and problem solving around social situations (play dates, recess, etc) will also be a main focus.
Hanging Out- NEW! (ages 12-14) & Hanging Out II-NEW! (ages 14-17): These groups were created to meet the needs of middle school and high school students. Groups will focus on pre-teen and teen conversational topics. Nonverbal social communication will be addressed (understanding to read facial expressions, body language, and general conversational interest). Pizza and refreshments served for this group.
Articulation Groups and Handwriting Groups
Talking Tots (Ages- 2.5-4 years)
Talking Tots, works on improving your child’s articulation skills in a small group setting. This class is focuses on developmental sounds through games, story time and art activities. The goal of this class is to improve speech intelligibility, enhance self correction, increase articulation skills to an age appropriate level and promote home, school and community carry-over. All sessions are conducted by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
Handwriting Groups
(Ages 4-7 years old)

These groups are designed to address all levels of handwriting skills. If your child has difficulties with handwriting, there may be underlying concerns that should be addressed prior to working on skills such as letter formation, spacing, and line adherence. These groups will use play-based activities to develop foundational skills such as postural control, strength, body awareness, and/or visual processing, which are necessary for successful handwriting.
All groups are led by Licensed Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapists or Physical Therapists.
Millennium Children’s Therapy also provides private Speech Therapy, PROMPT Therapy , Oral Motor Therapy, Interactive Metronome , Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy and Physical Therapy.
